Autumn is the new spring

Life can often be surprisingly amusing, beautiful, yet at times, harsh. There are moments when we enjoy a stable phase, and then there are times when everything seems to unravel. Just as the year goes through distinct seasons—winter, spring, summer, and autumn—our lives also have their own cycles. These seasons can represent different experiences that unfold sequentially or even simultaneously. We often anticipate snow in winter, rain in spring, sunshine in summer, and falling leaves in autumn; these elements reflect what we know about the seasons. However, life can throw us a curveball, leading us down unexpected paths. In your 20s, you might have one set of expectations, while in your 30s, those aspirations can shift dramatically. We often have certain expectations about how our lives should unfold. However, when those expectations are dashed—like when autumn brings unexpected rain or winter gifts us with unusual sunshine—reality can take us by surprise. For instance, you might begin the year determined to head north, only to discover that life has other plans, guiding you east, west, or even south. Such twists and turns can ruffle your feathers. In these moments, it's essential to adapt and make the necessary adjustments to keep moving forward. When planning for life, it must be in accordance with God's will, saying, 'God, let your will be done in my life.' These are my plans; however, you have a better plan for my life.

When we do not submit our plans to God, and it takes us on a different path, we become disillusioned, disorganised, and we do not know what to do; we start shouting and crying. Life is good, and we should not take it too seriously; instead, we should live life with God at its heart. When God is present in our lives, even if you hit a snag on the way, you are not afraid, and you can easily make a U-turn. With Christ on your side, all is well. Life is about rise and fall, but those who have Christ and trust in Christ, though they fall, they will keep going. Life is a mountain and at the same time a valley. When we find ourselves on the mountain, we must give thanks; likewise, when we find ourselves in the valley, we must pray and ask God to guide us. Sometimes there is an in-between, and sometimes there isn't. There are fifty-nine days to go before the year ends. What has worked for you, and what has not? Take a moment to reflect on how you've seen God at work in your life and consider what remains unfinished. Now is the time to take stock and invite God to journey alongside you until His promises are fulfilled.

Happy eleventh month.
